One photo carries great importance in memories. Especially after a disaster, a photo can be the only thing that remains. It offers comfort or, on the contrary, hope. Photographer Parisa Damandan's help in the disaster area at led to an immense archive. She handed over part of this archive to artist Rudi Struik. He created an impressive mixed-media installation based on beautiful photos by the Iranian photographer.
In 2006, the Iranian city of Bam was destroyed by a devastating earthquake. The exhibition 'The image rediscovered' shows how important images can be in such a situation.
