5x Exhibitions to get the spring in your step
Yes, dear people, spring's here. You can feel it in the air. The world seems a lot happier, more beautiful, just better! Spring is also the perfect time to take a fresh look at the world. Are you still stuck in dark winter mode? These exhibitions will swing you right into spring!
Radically Mine 2022 @Van Abbemuseum | till June 6
What do you get when you send a large group of schoolchildren and students into a museum and ask them to make artworks based on the collection? You will find out in the Van Abbemuseum over the coming months. For the 13th year in a row, young people will be tackling questions such as 'What role does tradition, culture and family play in my life?'—resulting in many new perspectives. So don't miss it!
Ménage à trois @Galerie Nasty Alice | 24 April to 15 May
If you speak a decent word of French, you know what to expect: the work of three artists which have a connection in a unique (artistic) way. Jeroen Duijf, Naoki Fuku, and Rob Strick can be admired with their 'Ménage à Trois' in three different places for three weeks in three different cities. Starting at Nasty Alice from April 24 through May 15.
Hans Zoete: Een leven lang fotografie @Pennings Foundation | April 22 to May 8
Photography is an art, as is evident from the exhibition of work by documentary photographer Hans Zoete at Pennings Foundation. Especially if you manage to capture the minor details in chaos, which are sometimes even more important; for example, he would rather photograph the audience during a visit by the Pope than the Holy Father himself. 'A lifetime of photography' is an homage to the photographer and the small things in life.
SEE:SUN Collective @KEVN | till May 1
If you've never been to KEVN in Woensel-West (shame on you!), here's your magic sign. The SEE:SUN collective, consisting of seven artists, including five Dutch and two Korean, presents new works. With brightly colored riso prints and hand-drawn patterns with a retro look, it will be spring all over the place. PS, a beer on the terrace is mandatory in case of sun shine.
Kijken in een glazen bol @Ton Smits Huis | till May 29
Life is not all fun and games, but would it be if we could look into a crystal ball? This question has a leading role in the exhibition that showcases cartoons by no other than Ton Smits. A little prediction from us: this will definitely bring spring to your step.
