NAFT @ various locations | 29 & 31 October

On Friday and Sunday of the festival, you'll find this explosive formation from Belgium all over town (e.g., on Nieuwe Emmasingel, Stationsplein, and Market Square). Blistering horns and heart-pounding drums: you will spot these talented southern neighbors from miles away.

Butcher Brown @ Muziekgebouw | October 30 from 19:15 to 20:15

Butcher Brown's Tiny Desk (Home) Concert might be the perfect preview, but we all know live acoustics make everything better. On Saturday, in the second foyer, you'll be blown away by the interplay of the Richmond Virginia group.

Metropole Orkest @ Muziekgebouw | October 30 from 20:15 to 21:45

With 20 nominations and four Grammy Awards under its belt, the Dutch Metropole Orkest can rightfully call itself the world's leading pop & jazz orchestra. The ensemble, accompanied by Jacomo Bairos, will be joined by three top artists: José James, Nana Adjoa, and Gaidaa, who grew up in Eindhoven.

So What's Next

Samara Joy ft. Pasquale Grasso @ Fifth NRE | October 31 from 14:00 to 14:45

Samara Joy is a rising star, one to keep an eye on. And that has everything to do with her rock-solid jazz voice, which she showcases with velvet subtlety— enjoy this a timeless performance of 45 minutes.

ESINAM @ Fifth NRE | 31 October from 16:00 to 16:45

There are some great vibes in the air at Fifth on NRE. So, on to the one-woman band ESINAM. Her oeuvre ranges from acoustic to electronic and is bursting with rhythms and grooves, supported by clever flute improvisations. Another reason to see her: during So What's Next?, she will present a brand new album called 'Shapes in Twilight of Infinity.
