5x How to beat the heat

What do you do or where do you go when temperatures are rising? Here are five tips to beat the heat during the hotter days in Eindhoven.

Water activities

Place your towel in the shade under a big tree and take a refreshing dip in one of the recreational lakes in Eindhoven, such as Aquabest and the IJzeren Man, or Duynenwater (former E3 Strand) just outside Eindhoven. Looking for an original water activity? Go standup paddle boarding on the Dommel river!

Shady spots

Did you know that Eindhoven is one of the greenest cities in the Netherlands? Escape the heat and find yourself a place in the shadow in one of the many city parks, all of which have enough of. You will also find plenty of shaded areas along the Dommel on the TU/e campus.  

Summer exhibitions

A museum may not be the first thing you think of when you step outside and feel the heat, but it can be the ideal place to cool off during a heat wave. A handful of museums have a great summer program with exhibitions, activities, and of course, plenty of air conditioning.  

Ice cream

Dive into a cinema
