5x Events during the Whitsun weekend

Hello, extra long weekend! Yes, you read it correctly, this weekend is Pentecost. That means you have an extra day to sleep in, and to enjoy Eindhoven. There is plenty to do, from dancing to spotting brand new street art! We've already done the heavy lifting for you, so all you have to do is make a tough decision: which of these five will you check out during the Whitsun weekend? Enjoy!

Storioni Festival @Various locations | 1-5 June

You don't want to miss this: the Storioni Festival. The Eindhoven chamber music festival has been surprising visitors since 2007, and this year will be no different. Not quite the classical music lover? No problem at all! During Music in the Streets, you will run into concerts of festival musicians all over the city center. If you happen to be a design fanatic (we know you are), we recommend the concerts on Friday, June 3, at the workshop of Piet Hein Eek. Sounds like music to our ears! 

Gouden Loper Festival @TU/e | June 3

Beer, beer, beer! It's gold and cold during the Gouden Loper Festival. Breweries from far and wide and Eindhoven (we see you, Van Moll & Lux) will give you a taste of their fantastic brews. Get ready to be amazed! There's no drinking on an empty stomach, though. Tacos, pizzas, and everything that fits on a stick will satisfy your hunger. 

Klub Atum @Around Coffee | June 4

Let's get the party started! Old skool tunes and buzzing electro by DUIF and Pluk van de Electroflat, among others, are there to keep you on your feet during Klub Atum on the VDMA terrain. Dare to dance, drink an ice-cold beer or a Mexican coffee and enjoy some finger-licking good authentic tacos. We don't think more arguments are necessary. See you (@) Around ;)

Step in the Arena @Berenkuil | 4-5 June

From urban sports to graffiti, urban culture is big in Eindhoven. During the graffiti festival Step in the Arena, you'll get a taste of it. Local and international artists will come together to give the open-air museum De Berenkuil a whole new look: street art style. Can't make it this weekend? Don't worry! After the weekend, the artists will perform outside 'the arena' to provide more of the city with a permanent coat of (spray) paint. Need more reasons to swing by? Here's a list of three must-sees. 

Ridderfest @PreHistorisch Dorp | 4 - 6 June

Have you always wanted to know how things were done during the Middle Ages? From writing like a monk (with a feather!) to designing your family crest. You will learn all about it by visiting the Ridderfest in the PreHistorisch Dorp (our very own prehistoric village). There is plenty to do, see and experience for young and old! 

Extra tip

Spring is in full bloom, and that deserves a celebration. During the Whitsun weekend, the city center will become even more colorful. Keep your eyes and ears open for a little surprise!
