A tip from Rik: Temporary Art Centre (TAC)

This month Rik takes us to the edge of Victoriapark and gives us a glimpse into one of his favorite cultural spots in the city: the Temporary Art Centre (TAC).

Creative collective

TAC is located opposite the Philips Stadium, on the Vonderweg. The building is a former Philips staff shop and nowadays a breeding ground for cultural innovation. You will find a collective of creatives engaged in innovative visual culture, spread over 80 studios. Think of designers, illustrators, artists, architects, gaming developers, and more. Besides the studios and workshops, TAC has a number of large and small halls, where exhibitions, concerts, performances, presentations, and parties are regularly hosted. TAC is also a regular part of the annual Dutch Design Week. In addition to providing space for culture makers, TAC also offers a broad platform for cultural experiments.

Korean food lab

Within the collective, a community is being built. Also part of the community is Korean restaurant Minyoung Korean Food Lab, an initiative of Design Academy student Min Young Choi. She combines her Korean background with the inspiration she gets during her stay in the Netherlands. Minyoung uses her food lab as a laboratory where she can literally give guests a glimpse into the design process.
