FRAME award for People's Pavilion
The People's Pavilion, which was on display at Ketelhuisplein during Dutch Design Week (DDW) 2017, has won a FRAME award. FRAME is one of the world’s leading brands for interior design. The prize was awarded to People’s Pavilion in the category ‘Sustainability’.
The temporary and completely circular building was located at Strijp-S and served as a central meeting place for creative thinkers and do-ers. Building materials were borrowed from companies, citizens donated chairs.
The colorful, mosaic-like facade of the building was striking. In the run-up to DDW, hundreds of people handed in plastic waste. Ultimately, 9.500 tiles were made from that waste.
The award-winning pavilion is a design by Overtreders-W in collaboration with bureau SLA.
