Share the Vibe: Tunes by Silque

Not one, but two artists perform under the name Silque. This dynamic DJ and producer duo, is consisting of Frenk de Vries and Edwin de Bruijn. You could also know the latter from the well-known Frits Friday Events. In this Share the Vibe playlist they share their favorite tracks.

Q. How do you describe your connection with Eindhoven?

A. F: Growing up in Uden, Eindhoven was the largest city in the neighborhood. So we always went shopping there. When I was older I went to the parties at Stratumseind. And even for one of my studies, I opted for Eindhoven. You could say I was a lot around Eindhoven!

E: It has grown considerably over the years. I used to think Eindhoven was really an ugly city. A shoutout to the municipality and all the entrepreneurs for turning Eindhoven into this nice and atmospheric city. A lot of events have been added, nice new shops, restaurants, and other hotspots. And they’re building quite a few new towers in the city. At this point, I feel really at home. Instead of having the need to go to other cities, I now really like being in Eindhoven.

Q. You picked some songs. What does this list mean to you? Why these tracks?

A. F: These are tracks I like to listen to by myself. Of course, I added my own productions to the list because I'm really proud of the end result.

E: These songs are a combination of songs with a personal meaning and our own songs. I've also added two songs with a link to Eindhoven.

Q. Which song describes Eindhoven for you? Why this song?

A. E: Fresku - Eind Hoger. I also put this one in the top 10 just for this reason. I’m a really big Fresku fan. His lyrics are razor sharp. This track describes Eindhoven as a whole but also describes the development the city has gone through. This is not a simple track but a credible cool track of fitting into our time. Just like how Eindhoven is now also a cool city!
