The Isolation Sessions | A Tip from Rik
Rik's new Tip brings you the feeling of a live performance at home; good music, a dose of coziness and the eternal unpredictability of Rock 'n Roll. The online event 'The Isolation Sessions' provides a program to enjoy at home every night around 21:00.
Somewhere in Vaartbroek lies T56, a home for culture, art and education. The Super-Nova Studio is also located in the building. Bob de Wit, initiator of The Isolation Sessions can be found six months a year in that particular studio. The other half of the year he tours with mainly American bands or he can be found at pop venue de Effenaar. Normally his studio is the perfect place to record new albums or singles without any distraction. But the situation has changed and that requires a creative plan of action. What if a small part of the Eindhoven entertainment industry can be brought to the studio on the Tarwelaan? Mix a benevolent team of volunteers, the urge to do good, and a contact list full of artists and a new touring system is created. In which bands don’t tour from location to location, but only have to travel to the studio once to be streamed into thousands of living rooms.
On a Postive Note
Those little thoughts developed into something big in just a few days. In this way, there’s a positive message spreading on social media. On the other side of the channel, music lovers can enjoy bands and artists like The Ballet Bombs, An Evening With Knives, Veerle Driesse, and ZALM, who were forced to cancel their performances. Stages and technicians also show interest in the project. For now, the daily team consists of sound technicians Bob de Wit and Koen Verhees from The Super-Nova Studio, Meis ‘Bagdaddy’ and Nik Safi for video and support, and Justina Lukosiute from volunteer organization Eindhoven Rockcity. Together they keep the project rolling: from the technique to pressing all play buttons at the same time. So, take a quick look at the sessions via the digital event or check the recap on their YouTube channel. Help these people rock Eindhoven and donate!
