This is Streetfood by Han

Umami by Han is no stranger to Eindhoven and several other cities. However, the restaurant praised by Michelin with a Bib Gourmand now has a neighbor: Streetfood by Han. 

And like most family members, they certainly have similarities, but they are also quite different. Cherie Sham, co-owner of the various restaurants and also tea sommelier: "You go to Streetfood when you’ve worked all day, don’t want to cook, but still want to have a fast, healthy and delicious meal.”

Together with chef Han Ji and their team, Cherie is always looking for new opportunities. “Our restaurants are doing well, but we must continue to challenge ourselves and continue to surprise our guests. New ingredients, new dishes, new concepts. We noticed a desire for a restaurant where you can eat well, without having the need to make a complete night out of it. The various Asian street food dishes are ideal then. We first introduced Streetfood by Han in the Martkhal in Rotterdam and right after opened one in Eindhoven too. Eindhoven was ready for some tasty streetfood”, Cherie laughs.

Streetfood by Han is located in a separate space at Umami by Han, but with its own entrance on the Kleine Berg. There are a couple of picnic tables outside on the terrace. Inside it is obvious that you are in a completely different restaurant than Umami. The interior is much more casual and has colorful elements such as lanterns and lucky cats. Also, unlike at Umami, streetfood can be ordered for delivery so you can enjoy these goodies at home. “At Umami, this was never an option, because those dishes are much more refined. The dishes of Streetfood are perfect for delivery and are also prepared according to the philosophy of chef Han Ji. Fresh, healthy and authentic.”

Ramen, bao buns, satay

But what is on the menu at Streetfood by Han? “We offer a versatile, tasty and healthy alternative to fast food. Taste is so important to us! Take our various ramen soups, the lobster broth and coconut broth are so rich in taste.” The bao buns are also popular. Steamed buns with surprising flavor combinations as toppings, with something for everyone. “And of course you eat it with your hands. One of the top favorites is our Signature Beijing Duck.” Other street food dishes on the menu include various soups, salads, spring rolls, wontons, satay and poke bowls.
