10x Fine Dining in Eindhoven
Be our guest… We have put together a list of restaurants with a Michelin star and restaurants where a star would not be out of place. At all restaurants, you will find surprising flavor combinations, works of art on the plates, good wines to go along, a nice atmosphere and of course a very professional team. At these places, you will definitely experience a culinary afternoon or evening. Enjoy!
The restaurant of Yuri and Jessie Wiesen is widely praised for their refined and tasteful dishes. They describe their dishes as 'classic in a modern way with influences from around the world'. The restaurant is not big, but cozy and stylish.
Zarzo has a contemporary kitchen with subtle influences of the classic Spanish cuisine, thanks to the roots of chef Adrian Zarzo. The menus or the a la carte package deal contain both high quality regional and worldly products.
This restaurant has had a Michelin star for years on end. In 2017, after 38 years of loyal service, Peter Koehn passed the baton to chef Rob van der Veeken. De Karpendonkse Hoeve serves dishes with influences that are derived from the travel experiences of the team and of the guest chefs who have cooked in the restaurant kitchen.
Something else: fine dining in a football stadium. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and sitting at your table, you can look right into the large open kitchen. Chef Johan van Groeninge changes the menu every month, but even he has his preferences: for example, beef tenderloin in clay is always on the menu.
Recently Kazerne opened new top restaurant BENZ. The dishes are described as light, fresh, delicate and earthy. Culinary ‘rockers’ Olander, Tonglet and Groendaal harmoniously balance this supposed contradiction. Together with Maître/sommelier van der Voort they offer a unique gastronomic experience, with a Scandinavian touch.
This restaurant can be found in the north of Eindhoven, in a former farmhouse with garden. According to the team, they know what the secret is on savoring and they are happy to share that secret with their guests. The kitchen works daily with seasonal products.
This is Adrian Zarzo's second restaurant (third and fourth coming soon). Valenzia is a bit more accessible than big brother Zarzo. Here, you eat Southern European with influences from the Asian cuisine, a delicious combination. Valenzia chef Sunny Devens and Adrian Zarzo were once colleagues at (three!) star restaurant De Librije. You can taste by the great dishes, that this collaboration is still going strong.
Businesswoman and chef Eveline Wu set up a very tasty concept with MOOD. This restaurant is located at Strijp-S (with another one in the city centre). On the menu, you will find classic French dishes and delicacies with special taste and texture combinations, inspired by the authentic Asian cuisine.
Do you enjoy sharing and tasting? At Umami they do social dining. According to the Michelin guide, Umami has a top price-quality ratio. Apart from the restaurant section, Umami also has an open Food Bar with fruits de mer and a steam kitchen, where different types of bapao with pickled vegetables are prepared.
The highest restaurant on this list. You can find VANE on the 14th floor of the NH Collection hotel on the Vestdijk. Chef Casimir Evens is at the head of the kitchen brigade. His dishes surprise, amaze and leave us wanting more. Much more.
