5x Eindhoven parks for kids
Ah, spring. The time to go out and enjoy the sun is finally here. We have listed 5 lovely parks in Eindhoven, for you to relax in and kids to run around and play. Of course, certain green areas are more peaceful and verdant than others, but all of the parks listed here offer amazing things to do outside.
The Stadswandelpark is located just outside the city center and is a wonderful place to spend the afternoon in. With 30 beautiful sculptures throughout the park, nature and art are connected in a beautiful way. Pay a visit to the Observatory, or take a spacewalk by using the free app. Pay a visit to Stadspaviljoen or Restaurant Parkzicht for a drink, where the children can play a some more on the playground.
Back in the days, Philips de Jongh park was owned by the Philips family, and named after Anton's wife, Anna Philips de Jongh. Today, the park is open to the public. Amidst the beautiful greenery, you will find the Park Pavilion, where you can stop for some food and drinks. Or visit a training of the PSV Eindhoven team at the Herdgang, located within walking distance of the park.
The Henri Dunantpark, a paradise for children and adults, is located in the north of Eindhoven. For the little ones, you will find sandpits, playground equipment, a climbing net, a basketball court and small skatepark. The adults can fish in the fishing pond, enjoy a picnic and even practice tai chi on the spacious lawns.
Several trails lead you through beautiful nature, along the Dommel and Tongelreep, where you can go supping during summer. You can also stop by the Genneper Hoeve farm, the pre-historic village and the Heempark Brother Simon Deltour. End the day with a drink and a game of miniature golf at Genneper Parken Pavilion.
The Philips Fruittuin (fruit garden) is a former Philips orchard. In addition to Pancake House ‘De Proeftuin’ and a farm where they sell local products and fresh fruit from the orchard, there are plenty of fun activities for the whole family, such as treasure hunts, guided tours, excursions and apple picking days.
