8x Summer exhibitions

The summer months in Eindhoven are packed with exhibitions. From Dutch design and contemporary art to the world's best press photos and augmented reality tours. These are the must-visit exhibitions for your summer dose of culture!

Willem Popelier @ Galerie Pennings

until 20 July

At Pennings this summer Willem Popelier will be showing a combination of three projects: Ephemeral Photographs, Showroom Girls and The Do-It-Yourselfie Guide. These projects deal with the fleeting use of photography, the need to be seen and heard through social media and the unwritten rules that we apply to it.

Stranger Things @ Gallery Nasty Alice

until 28 July

There’s a fine line between horrible and beautiful, proven by a new exhibition by Galerie Nasty Alice, with work by visual artists Han van Wetering, Pepijn van den Nieuwendijk and Jeroen Duijf. Only to be visited in July!

Xenogenesis - The Otolith Group @ Van Abbemuseum

until 18 August

How do we deal with what comes after mankind? Without becoming didactic, the video works of London-based The Otolith Group poetically present alternative realities. And so they open up space for a redefinition of history.

Hope - Ilse Crawford & Oscar Peña @ Barracks

until 31 August

Hope is a verb. And effort is one of our most powerful tools for change. The core of this exhibition is an optimistic message: that small changes can make all the difference. The hopeful works are designed by alumni and students of the Design Academy Eindhoven.
