Still life | Walls with Paint
In “Walls with Paint”, Eindhoven local, photographer, and art fan Lukedaduke shares the story behind a special street art project in Eindhoven. This month: the still life located at Loods61.
Slowly but surely, the Netherlands is opening up again for summer. The bars and restaurants are opening their doors again for lunch, dinner, or just a nice drink on the terrace.
At the Kleine Berg, a remarkable mural appeared in 2017, overlooking the terrace of Loods61. This mural displays some pottery, a lemon, teapots, and cakes, some in multiple forms.
The artist who painted the mural is called ARYZ, he lives close to Barcelona, and the graffiti virus caught him at an early age. A few years ago, his work contained skulls, bones, and intestines, but over the years, it includes more and more still lives, portraits, and human figures.
ARYZ likes working with brushes, rollers, and the occasional spray paint. The use of pastel colors gives the mural a Mediterranean look, which suits the atmosphere of the Kleine Berg. In short: a fine wall to look at while enjoying a good glass of wine, a delicious beer, or a cup of tea.
