Dutch Happinnes Week

Happiness is important from a social and economic perspective. Happy people are more active, creative, less susceptible to disease and have more energy.

It’s not without reason that the UN declared March 20 as ‘International Happiness Day’ and that organizations like the Sociaal Cultureel Planbureau take happiness as an indicator in their publications.

With knowledge and awareness about happiness as a goal and together with partners that want to work on projects that improve happiness, the Dutch Happiness Week came to life in 2014. Though in those days, was called ‘Happiness for Eindhoven’. The initiative came from the Parktheater and Fontys University of Applies Science. For the Parktheater happiness is part of its mission to really touch their visitors and for Fontys the theme of ‘The happiness economy’ is important especially within the studies HRM and Psychology.
