De Opening
Artists, makers, and visitors from across the Netherlands come together for De Opening: the kick-off of the new cultural season. Expect a taste of everything coming your way this season: music, theatre, dance, and art. Admission is free!

At De Opening, you discover new productions, meet emerging talent, and experience the work of established names – all spread across the city. From Muziekgebouw and Van Abbemuseum to Next Nature Museum. Tickets to the stage programmes are free. For the museums: one museum ticket gets you weekend-long access to all participating museums via a wristband. Got a Vriendenloterij VIP card? That weekend, you and one other person can visit all participating museums in Brabant.
At Stadhuisplein and the Markt, PhilZuid and Philharmonie Brainport perform alongside De Ontdekfabriek, Fresku, The Ruggeds, and Joël Borelli, among others. On Saturday, kids can catch the Grote Kinderboekenshow, and on Sunday, the spotlight is on musical theatre stars.
