De Bijenkorf

The iconic Bijenkorf Eindhoven building on Piazza Square was a symbol of modernity when it opened in 1969. The innovative building that was festively opened on March 18, 1969 is characterized by its green color and ceramics. The building is one of the designs of the famous Italian architect Gio Ponti (1891).

Ponti was inspired by his view from the plane from Italy to the Netherlands, lots of green, divided into squares and the typical ditch structure. Bijenkorf Eindhoven combines the most beautiful collection of fashion, shoes, bags, cosmetics and (home) accessories of many national and international brands with real Brabant sociability and sausage rolls.
