De huiskamer (the living room) is a safe place where refugees can make use of basic services such as eating a hot meal together, taking a shower and washing clothes. There is also a wide range of activities aimed at relaxation, development and meeting people: Dutch language lessons, theater, bicycle repair, designing and sewing clothes, photography and sports.
De Huiskamer focuses on refugees without status: refugees who have no roof or home, no school or job, no income, no primary base. People who have often been surviving for years.
De huiskamer for Refugees Foundation in the heart of Eindhoven is a school, meeting place and activity center for vulnerable refugees who are awaiting whether or not they will be granted a residence permit.
