Landgoed de Wielewaal

The gates of Landgoed De Wielewaal are finally swinging open to the public! Stroll past the manor house where Frits Philips once lived, admire the historic buildings and remarkable gardens that have existed since the 1920s, and with a bit of luck, you might even spot deer, foxes, or a kingfisher during your walk.

Wiele-what?
First, a quick history lesson. Back in 1912, the Philips family bought this massive 142-hectare estate—that’s about 200 soccer fields! For over a century, it stayed private. But in 2022, the city of Eindhoven took over with one goal: turn it into a public space for everyone. Now, for the first time in 100+ years, you can explore this hidden piece of Philips' heritage.

Praktische informatie:
The forest is open every day from sunrise to sunset. Admission is free, and there are three entrances: Elburglaan 12, Elburglaan 2, en Oirschotsedijk 3.

And remember: to keep the park peaceful, some areas stay closed—no mountain bikes, motor vehicles, or big events. Dogs are welcome but on a leash.
