Practical info BRIDGE Festival

The brand-new guitar festival BRIDGE touches down in Eindhoven from 10 to 14 May. This festival is for everybody who loves pop, rock, but most importantly: the sound of guitars. Get ready for exclusive concerts, talk shows, master classes, lunchtime concerts, workshops, and so much more during the free program.

What is BRIDGE Festival?

For those who have never heard of it, no need for FOMO; this year marks the debut of this spectacular guitar festival. We'll explain everything you need to know in this article! For five days, Eindhoven will be dedicated to the world's most-played instrument: the guitar! Everything comes into play, from classical to blues, jazz to rock, and flamenco to pop. Besides ear-catching performances, there will be plenty of activities and workshops. And the best part: most of the festival is free!

The BRIDGE Festival is organized by Muziekgebouw Eindhoven and Effenaar. Which sounds like music to our ears!

Where and when?

This year's BRIDGE Festival is from Wednesday 10th of May to Sunday 14th of May. On these days, you will find performances by over 50 artists across 7+ venues in the heart of Eindhoven. For example, Café Wilhelmina, Altstadt, De Rozenknop, Effenaar, Dynamo, Café The Jack, Stroomhuis, Meneer Frits, and other musical locations like Muziekfabriek, POM, and the Let's Play Guitar Center.

Don't forget to visit 18 Septemberplein and Wilhelminaplein. On these squares several free(!) artists go into concert.

Program

Jett Rebel, Steve Vai, and Robin Scherpen, with artists like these, it's bound to be a party. As we've mentioned earlier, there are two programmes: one totally free of charge and paid concerts. We suggest checking out both. Hard time choosing where to go? As a good festival goer befits, you could dive into the timetable yourself. Or, you could check out our must-sees

Travel to BRIDGE

By train

Eindhoven has two train stations: Eindhoven Central Station and Strijp-S Station. Intercity trains, as well as Sprinters stop here. Sprinters are trains that make stops at all stations between larger cities (short sprints, get it?). You can schedule your journey via the journey planner on ns.nl or Google Maps.

By car

All roads lead to… Eindhoven! From Amsterdam/Utrecht, take the A2; from Rotterdam/Tilburg, take the A58; from Antwerp, the A67; from Arnhem/Nijmegen, the A50. Here you can find all the parking facilities in the city.

By plane

Eindhoven Airport is about 15 minutes away (by bus) from Eindhoven Central Station. A bus leaves from the airport to the city center every 10 to 15 minutes and vice versa, except after 21:00.

(Public) transportation in the city

All BRIDGE venues are at walking or biking distance from each other (except from the performances in Helmond and Nuenen). Don't feel like walking? Rent an NS bike. Get one at the bicycle parking in the basement of our Central Station. You will also find plenty of electric bikes and scooters from GO Sharing, Tier, and Felix in Eindhoven. Fast and sustainable! You can also take the bus: plan your trip via 9292.nl Google Maps.
