Eindhoven has countless sunny spots to enjoy, but did you know that there are many hidden (and very sunny) courtyards? The following city gardens are the answer for greenery, shade, and good service. Sit back & relax!
Mangiare
If you walk a little further down the Kleine Berg, you will find Mangiare, an Italian paradise in Eindhoven. In their romantic courtyard garden, you are surrounded by pizza and pasta, good wines, and a lot of coziness. A great place to spend your evening.
DOMUSDELA
If you think DOMUSDELA is a great look from the outside (hello public award best building 2020), wait until you have seen the courtyard. Green, peace, coziness. Everything comes together here. After all that admiration, it's time for sunshine and bitterballen. This ideal combination is brought to you by Brasserie Rita.
If you're on the Kleine Berg you can't help but spot Berlage. The terrace located near the street is a favorite if you want to get a glance at the city life. Would you rather sit more quietly? Then their city garden offers sun, shade, and of course all the goodies from the menu.
BeanBrothers
Visit De Bergen, and you will be amazed. This part of Eindhoven has beautiful facades, and behind them might be your new favorite hangout. Stadsbranderij BeanBrothers might be one of them. It takes some searching, but it's worth it! Found the magical gate? Then excellent coffee awaits you in this courtyard garden. By the way, BeanBrothers doesn't think it's all that difficult: 'Just walk through the alley.' Okay!
Now that better temperatures are in sight, we immediately inform you of a shaded courtyard garden. One where you can protect yourself from the sun, should you need it. The courtyard of Kazerne and Kazerne ByDay meets all these requirements. Although you would probably like to soak up some sun, don't forget to check out the exhibitions inside!
De Karseboom
Whether it's spring, summer, or fall, it's always good to be in the city garden of restaurant de Karseboom. Don't forget to grab yourself a table, the sun is coming!
The cozy, brown café De Bierelier on Geldropseweg might very well become your new hangout. Drop in for an ice-cold beer, or settle down in the cozy courtyard garden. Add a bitterball and a sizzling sports game, and Bob's your uncle!
Gusto-040
As we said, there are many hidden city gardens. Our tip: dare to look outside the city center! Take Gusto-040, for example. Under the large tree in the middle of the terrace, you can enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere. And if you order the weekly changing meal (available from Monday to Thursday), it will be a good day. We promise!
Yes, you can endlessly scroll through our website for tips. Preparation is half the job, as they say. But if you want to know what's happening in Eindhoven right now, for example what’s on during the weekend of your visit or which restaurant is extra hot at the moment, then follow @eindhovencity.
