12x Indian restaurants
Eindhoven has endless restaurants with influences from all over the world. Indian restaurants are also amply represented! We could describe it to you in vivid detail, but would you rather experience the versatility of Indian cuisine for yourself? We have compiled a list of twelve Indian restaurants throughout the city. Enjoy!
Surya
In the mood for Indian food with just that little bit extra? Then Surya Restaurant on Geldropseweg is the place to be. Here, you can taste Indian and Nepalese flavors in a completely renewed setting. You might remember the former Touch of India – Surya has the same owners, but a brand-new look. Feeling overwhelmed by all the options? Go for the shared dinner and discover multiple flavors together. Finish with a cocktail from the extensive menu, and your evening is complete.
Dhol & Soul
They’re still relatively new in town, but Dhol & Soul has already become a must-visit for food lovers. If you haven't yet experienced the traditional Indian restaurant, be sure to drop by Dhol & Soul on Willemstraat. The Indian dine-in welcomes everyone for a moment of pleasure where, of course, it revolves around one thing: good food.
Pakshala
Almost seven pages long, the menu at Pakshala showcases a lot of flavor diversity, as each region uses its own unique ingredients and spices. From various types of naan, you know, that delicious bread, to Bengali specialties, there’s something here for everyone (including vegetarians). Conveniently, they ask in advance how spicy you would like your meal.
Indian Tapas
If you think tapas are only part of Spanish cuisine, think again. At Indian Tapas, you can enjoy an all-you-can-eat concept with small, traditional dishes made for sharing. Many of these dishes come straight from the tandoor – a traditional clay oven heated to high temperatures that gives food its signature smoky flavour, with a lightly charred outside and a soft inside. Be sure to try the tender kesari paneer tikka (grilled Indian cheese in a spiced marinade) and freshly baked garlic naan from the tandoor.
Dhol & Soul Eindhoven
Lekker India
Are you near the Hoogstraat? Then please stop by Lekker India, even if it's just for takeaway. They know all about guests with decision fatigue; it’s hard to choose with so many delicious options, which is why they’re happy to decide for you. Do you dare to do it on your own? Then the advice is to order lots of different dishes. That way, you'll always be on the right track, and you'll get to explore both South and North Indian flavors.
Tiranga
Meet the Indian bistro Tiranga! Here, you will find dishes from all across the country, and they are all equally delicious. Just to name a few: the chaat menu (a generous tasting of Indian street food snacks), the popular North Indian Chole bhature, or the Chicken Dum Biryani. Do you like it spicy? Then go for the Mumbai Kheema Pav.
Veera
Right in the center of Eindhoven, you will find the holy grail among Indian restaurants: Veera. Veera's concept suits any occasion. Whether you're having a romantic dinner for two, meeting friends, or just with colleagues, sit down at the table and order whatever you fancy.
Love My Curry
Love My Curry on the High Tech Campus has been a well-known name in Eindhoven for years. The Strip, where all the restaurants are located, is freely accessible, so don’t hesitate to walk in. Do keep in mind: the large Indian community in Eindhoven is a big fan as well, so securing a table isn’t always easy.
Bombay Street Food
Are you looking for a reflection of the Eindhoven restaurant scene? Impossible! Or is it? The Down Town Gourmet Market seems to have it all. This food market in the city center features 21 concepts, including a spot for Indian street food. For samosas, dumplings, and kulfi (traditional Indian ice cream), stop by Bombay Street Food.
Rasamayi Foods
Okay, we shouldn't count Rasamayi Foods as a restaurant, but still. Initially, it was just a catering service, but now you can also pick up food to enjoy at home. And you should! From aromatic rice dishes, officially called Biryani, to delicious vegetable curries. Are you ready for real taste explosions? Head over to Leenderweg or Bleekweg, or order from your couch.
Krishna Aahar
Krishna Aahar, in brief: a monster hit. You don't need any more information, do you? At this restaurant on the Dommelstraat, you come for authentic South Indian dishes and delicacies such as idli and dosa: cakes of steamed rice and lentils, and crispy pancakes, also made of lentils and rice. Yummy!
Atithi
We simply can’t resist highlighting one more spot. Once again in the city center – in Eindhoven, you never have to walk far for Indian food – you’ll find Atithi, which means “guest” in Hindi. Treat yourself and sample a variety of dishes from the menu. One must-try is the popular street food snack dahi puri. Craving comfort food? Go for chola bhature, a North Indian classic featuring spicy chickpea curry (chola) with fluffy fried bread (bhature). Enjoy your meal!
