5x Must-sees at GLOW

GLOW is, and always will be, a magical week, if we do say so ourselves. And it gets even better when you know where to go! Experience the light artworks, feel the rhythm of the city, and above all, let yourself be amazed. We’ll walk you through six GLOW highlights so you won't miss a thing. Enjoy!

Fable Light @Catharinakerk

Creativity in Eindhoven starts stirring at a young age, and the curious makers of Fable Light prove it all too well! Hugo Vrijdag’s light artwork is a true GLOW classic. Together with the creations of thousands of children, it never fails to surprise. For this edition, thousands of children from the region came up with stories that take you into their own imaginative worlds. Where one story ends, the next begins. The grand finale? A breathtaking shadow play in Catharinakerk (St. Catherine’s Church), lit by spiral lanterns the children made entirely by themselves.

Bubbelbad @Lodewijk Napoleonplein

For a moment, it feels like you’ve landed in a bubble bath: at Lodewijk Napoleonplein, shiny air bubbles create a playful light show. As soon as you step inside, you find yourself in an underwater world where it feels like you’ve shrunk, while light and sound wash over you like waves. Take a dip and splash around in the installation together. You’d almost forget you’re standing on a square … and that’s exactly the point!

GLOW, Hugo Vrijdag

The Breathing Collective @Philips Stadion

No cheering from the stands for once, just breathless silence. During GLOW, Philips Stadion gives the stage to The Breathing Collective: a drone light show about finding each other and letting go again. One small point of light finds its way through the darkness, until more lights join in and together form one breathing whole. Whether you start or end your GLOW evening with it: this light show is a must-see.

Please note you need a ticket with a fixed time slot for The Breathing Collective. A ticket costs € 2 and you can book it via the website.

Brick @De Markt

You can spot this colorful work from a distance, because it’s impossible to miss! The facades on Markt are a playground where LEGO comes to life. The Captain Energy team shows how repetition, rhythm, and structure form the foundation of both LEGO bricks and a city. Brick by brick, a single pixel grows into a complete, moving world. What you see, someone else might not. That way, you keep discovering something new.

GLOW, Hooghuis @Max Kneefel

Triple Point @Hooghuis

We’ve seen the brutalist Hooghuis transform into an optical illusion before. This year, artist Antoine Goldschmidt wraps the 55-meter-high facade on Keizersgracht in a curtain of mist. With Triple Point, he explores the limits of physics. He treats visitors to a light show in which water, light, and space perform a dance together. The angular, gray building turns into a colorful play of light.

Behind the Walls @Steentjeskerk

Do you ever think about the stories behind buildings? You probably walk past them every day, but don’t often stop to think about it. Behind the Walls makes you look at buildings like Steentjeskerk on Sint Antoniusstraat with fresh eyes. The scribbling, probing fingers spark your curiosity. What’s hiding behind those walls, and which stories are wandering around? Follow the hand and find out for yourself!
