El Pastor
Among people with celiac disease, it’s no secret that the Mexican kitchen is highly gluten-allergy-friendly—thanks to all that corn! At El Pastor, you can enjoy authentic Mexican ceviche, tacos, and tortillas without worrying about gluten. Most of the menu is sin gluten, and the staff is happy to accommodate additional dietary needs. Big bonus: their cocktails with a Mexican twist.
Surabaya & Indonesian Warung
The Indonesian kitchen is another safe haven for people with a gluten allergy because it uses very few grains. The tricky part is often the soy sauce. At Surabaya (on Kruisstraat) and Indonesian Warung (inside Down Town Gourmet Market), you can order dishes made with gluten-free soy sauce and ketcap manis (sweet soy sauce). Only the spring rolls, fried bananas, and crispy onions are off-limits. The rest of the menu is entirely gluten-free!
Friture Thijsco
Fries are naturally gluten-free, but fryers full of crumbs can spoil the fun. At Friture Thijsco, they know how it’s done. They even offer homemade gluten-free Dutch snacks, like frikandellen, kroketten, and bamischijven. Oh, and don’t forget to try their chicken nuggets! All snacks are fried in a separate pan at the back of the shop—just like your fries. A lesson many other places could learn from!

Eethuis Kyoto
Eethuis Kyoto
Eethuis Kyoto prepares all dishes fresh, ensuring no gluten-containing soy sauce or fried onions end up in your order. And there’s no compromise on quality: Kyoto is known far and wide for its exceptional sushi, poke bowls, and teppanyaki. Prefer to stay in? Order from Sushi2go.nl and specify your dietary needs in the comments section!
iWok&Go
A bit of an outlier since they don’t have gluten-free sauce options, but iWok&Go is still highly recommended by our gluten-free friends. Why? They’re incredibly meticulous, and with a good dollop of sambal, any stir-fry is a hit. Be sure to mention your gluten allergy—they’ll handle it excellently. Perfect for a quick bite before an event or when you’re not in the mood to cook.
Lucie Cocina
Ordering tapas can be a gamble for gluten-free diners—the more ingredients, the higher the risk of unwanted gluten contamination. But not at Lucie Cocina on Kleine Berg. They serve delicious tapas and are mindful of allergies. This is a fantastic spot for a Spanish night out, offering amazing bites and excellent wines.

De Karseboom
With its clear allergens menu, this cozy café on Grote Berg makes it easy for allergy sufferers. The only hard part? Choosing from their many unique seasonal dishes! Whatever you pick at De Karseboom, feel free to order fries—they’re fried in a dedicated, crumb-free fryer. And the cherry on top of the gluten-free cake? Gluten-free cake! To be exact: gluten-free nougatine ice cream cake from Bakkerij Renders, one of the best bakeries in the region.
Pannenkoekenhuis de Proeftuin
Sometimes, you just crave a good old-fashioned pancake. A short trip from the city center brings you to Pannenkoekenhuis de Proeftuin in Philips Fruittuin. While not listed on the menu, they serve gluten-free pancakes with classic and adventurous toppings. How about a pancake with chorizo and jalapeños? Or a vegan buckwheat pancake with apple and cinnamon?
Bonus tip: spots for gluten-free beers
Tired of wine? Completely understandable! Fortunately, more and more places in Eindhoven offer gluten-free beers. You'll find plenty of options at Belgisch Biercafé and Drinkers Pub, including tasty specialty beers. Van Moll and Radegast also cater to the gluten-free crowd. Cheers!
