8x Spots for oliebollen

The ‘oliebol’ is a Dutch baked good that is traditionally eaten on New Year's Eve. The New Year's Eve festivities aren't complete without this slightly sweet fried dough ball. Get yours at one of these spots!

Hoving-Maasakkers Gebakwagens

You have to check out Hoving's pastry stands—they're the real deal! The most popular one is right at 18 Septemberplein, next to the Blob (you can’t miss it). They've got your classic oliebollen, but also ones packed with raisins or stuffed with your favorite chocolate treats (such as the Kinder Bueno ball). You'll also find their stands at the Markt and Trudoplein.

Bakkerij Renders

For many years, Bakkerij Renders has been a household name in Eindhoven. The family business has been around since 1944 and still bakes fresh bread, cakes, and other delicacies daily. On New Year's Eve, they'll spoil you with fresh oliebollen. Tip: take a lovely winter walk in the nearby Stadswandelpark. Then you'll have more than earned that oliebol!

Stadsbakkerij Broodt

Organic oliebollen, which you just can't resist? You'll find them at Stadsbakkerij Broodt! This is your go-to spot for traditional and organic bread all year round, and on December 30th and December 31st, they're serving up fresh oliebollen. Oh, and while you're there, don't forget to grab a loaf of their amazing sourdough bread.

Ridder & Bierens Pastries

Need a last-minute Christmas tree? Drop by Praxis at the Hurk, where you can also grab some freshly made oliebollen! And it doesn't stop there—they've got churros and waffles too. Just don't eat it all at once, okay?

Check out their opening hours here!

Bierens Oliebollen Stand

Touching down at Eindhoven Airport? Why not make your next stop the Bierens oliebollen stand, right in front of the departure and arrival halls? Let's coin a new term: an "OTG", a.k.a. an oliebol to go. Perfect for your journey ahead!

IJssalon Boschdijk

This year, the ice cream parlor at the Boschdijk once again transforms into a bakery. In December, you won't find any ice cream on display; it's all baked goods. One of their specialties is 'oliebol on a stick'. And that's not all! If you're a lover of the Spanish doughnuts called Churros, you're in the right place here.

Oliebollen Stand Blixembosch

Every baker who makes oliebollen thinks theirs are the best, but this baker has actually won gold! Last year, Leroy was judged to be the best 'oliebollenbakker' in Eindhoven, which is promising. In addition to the best regular oliebollen, you can also try some crazy variations, such as the matcha bol and the fristi bol.

Oliebollenhuis Cassandraplein

If you've had enough oliebollen by now, you should still stop by Oliebollenhuis Cassandraplein. Order or pick up no fewer than twelve different types of oliebollen, including the tompouce-bol. Oliebollen overload? A tray of mini oliebollen can be shared between five people!
