GLOW is something to look forward to during the dark months every year. Even though the light festival makes you feel warm inside, we bet you could use a hot chocolate or mulled wine after walking the route. Warm yourself up at these official GLOW hotspots!
Radegast040
At the back of the Lichtplein, you'll find Radegast040. A cozy beer garden inspired by the ones in New York. With any luck, they crank up the heaters outdoors, and if not, it's also great inside with a front-row view of the barbecues. Be tempted by a snack from the grill or opt for some classic Dutch snacks.
Grand Café de Lichttoren
Nice, central and completely on theme: Grand Café de Lichttoren. At this hotspot, you can warm up inside with a drink before or after your walk and socialize on the square. The best thing about this spot? Many light artworks are on display nearby, such as Evolution of Life on the Emmasingel.
Stads
Stads, like Grand Café de Lichttoren, is one of the hospitality hosts of GLOW, read: the perfect base. This spot is not only a great place to have a drink and a hot waffle, but during GLOW, Stads whips up a GLOW menu all week. That way, you can mentally prepare yourself for braving the cold a little longer.
Café Kennedie
Whether it is the starting point of your evening or the end, a visit to Café Kennedie (part of Not\Standard) will make your GLOW adventure even more fun. By the way, you will find this host steps away from the central station, which is super convenient!

L’Avenue
You can't go wrong with a visit to de Kleine Berg, especially during GLOW. Another plus: the route also runs through the Bergen district. Need a break? Then L'Avenue is ideal for a heartwarming glass of wine and hearty appetizers (the truffle fries are a must-try).
Extra tip: walking dinners
If you're a seasoned GLOW-goer, you're probably familiar with the annual culinary walk. This walk takes you along the entire route and has four additional stops (one for each course) at Merlin Seafood, Restaurant 1910, Today040, and Vestdijk47.
