It's time for a drink
In Eindhoven, we are always in for a drink and fun (whether it's Friday or not). Cool cafés, award-winning breweries, and local bars galore. Plenty of places to enjoy a drink with the help of our guide!
Cheers!By the time you read this, you have survived Christmas (hallelujah!) and can start the new year with a bang! Do you prefer New Year's drinks over New Year’s resolutions? Popping bottles of champagne with friends or colleagues is guaranteed to be fun at the following spots.
A good start is half the battle. And a stunner of a New Year's drink seems like an excellent start. If you ask us, VANE Skybar on the Vestdijk is the perfect place for it. The incredible view and fantastic cocktails are reason enough to make a reservation.
Are you looking for a suitable place for drinks at Strijp-S? Try Ketelhuis! It's cozy, and they've got an extensive menu with cocktails, beer, and wine. Espresso martini, anyone? Would you rather celebrate the new year in private? It's possible to rent out the space upstairs.
No matter what you organize—like a New Year’s drink—you can never please everyone. You know the drill: one colleague doesn’t like cocktails, another arrives by car and needs parking. At STR’EAT bars & kitchens, all those worries disappear! With three bars and ten kitchens from around the world, there’s something for everyone. Our tip: a cocktail from Bobby’s and snacks from Lotus by Jermain.
Café LouLou © Max Kneefel
Whether you’re here for lunch, a night out, or a New Year’s drink, Café LouLou is always a party. This Paris-inspired hotspot serves up great food—think oysters and pata negra for your drink—alongside cocktails and mocktails. If the vibe gets so good that it’s past ten, all the chairs and tables move aside for a little dance.
Cyklist, on NRE-terrein, is not only the home base for cycling in Eindhoven. It is also a great place for a drink. Here, you’ll find a casual atmosphere and delicious specialty beers. And it always smells like bitterballen. We suspect that Cyklist has an ingenious bitterball-scented air freshener to lure us inside..
Is your team not precisely known for letting go? Then it might take a little more than a half-full glass of champagne. Perhaps a game of pétanque will break the ice. In addition to a dose of team building, Mooie Boules at Kleine Berg also serves delicious snacks, including those from master chef Ron Blaauw.
Lucie Cocina © Max Kneefel
Are you feeling a bit fancy? Then perhaps Lucie Cocina is something for you and your team. This Spanish paradise on Kleine Berg serves champagne en oysters instead of ordinary beers and bitterballen. And you can start early in the morning: they serve everything from breakfast to authentic tapas.
As a sibling of Lucie Cocina, we can reveal that Tesoro de Lucie offers the same warmth and care. In the Bar Boudoir, just like at Lucie, you can enjoy drinks and bites. For a full dinner (because yes, drinks make you hungry), head to the cozy, intimate Bistro Salon.
Undoubtedly one of the finest places in town to toast the new year. The setting at Thomas is on fleek, with fabulous murals and incredible resident house DJs every Friday and Saturday. And not only is the drinks menu endless - hello, cocktail tree - , but the options to pimp your event are also great. How about dining underneath the stars in the Dinner Domes?
Besides sharing traumatic Christmas experiences involving the in-laws and popping bottles of champagne, New Year's drinks are the perfect time to discover new places. This is a sign if you've never been to KEVN in Woensel-West. Surrounded by greenery and equipped with an exhibition space, this is perhaps the most inspiring place for the postponed family gathering. Keep in mind: KEVN will be closed from 22 December to 3 February.
